1900sBao Yi Qian Clinic was founded over 100 years ago by Virginia Jin’s great-grandfather as a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice.
“Bao” is the family name, while “Yi Qian” refers to a traditional unit of measurement for herbal medicine, equal to approximately 5 grams—reflecting the precision, care, and lineage behind each prescription.

1980sBao Yi Qian TCM Clinic was run by Virginia Jin’s grandfather in the 1980s. Today, Virginia Jin represents the fifth generation carrying on this family tradition.
Ponsonby Wellness Centre Start
Sept 2012Carrying forward her family’s legacy, Virginia inherited the traditional clinic and later came to Auckland, where she founded Ponsonby Wellness Centre on Ponsonby Road in September 2012.

Ponsonby Wellness Centre's 10th Anniversary
2022In 2022, Ponsonby Wellness Centre celebrated its 10th anniversary after relocating to Sussex St, Grey Lynn. Over the past ten years, we have seen a growing number of patients seeking alternative therapies to complement conventional treatments, achieving outstanding outcomes.
