How therapy massage works?

TCM knowledgably system

The philosophy and principles of tuina massage are based on traditional Chinese medicine, which focuses on emotional and physical components of a person’s well-being, as well as aspects such as climate, relationships, and diet. The underlying philosophy of tuina massage is that true health is achieved when one has found harmony and balance inside the self and their environment.

Treat more than pain

Tuina is an effective therapeutic tool, which is not only useful in treatment of pain and injury, but also in certain conditions such as dysmenorrhea and digestive disorders. Tuina is also the preferred approach in the treatment of young children age 0 to 6; pediatric tuina is a specialization in itself and it is very effective approach in treating common childhood health problems.

best complement to acupuncture

Tuina massage is an effective therapeutic approach by itself. However, it is often worthwhile to combine tuina massage with other approaches of Chinese medicine, such as cupping, acupuncture or Chinese herbs to obtain the best treatment result.

Acupress massage techniques

We offer a tailored treatment session to make the maximum results dealing with your current issue.

The individual massage approaches are based on the practitioners’ own training and experience.

    • Vigorous massage should be avoided by people with bleeding disorders or low blood platelet counts, and by people taking blood-thinning medications such as warfarin.
    • Massage should not be done in any area of the body with blood clots, fractures, open or healing wounds, skin infections, or weakened bones (such as from osteoporosis or cancer), or where there has been a recent surgery.
    • Although massage therapy appears to be generally safe for cancer patients, they should consult their oncologist before having a massage that involves deep or intense pressure. Any direct pressure over a tumor is discouraged. Cancer patients should discuss every concern about massage therapy with their oncologist.
    • Pregnant women should consult their health care provider before using massage therapy.
